You could scour Pinterest for the best toddler and pre-k play ideas and get extremely overwhelmed... OR you could crumple up newspaper and toss it into a laundry basket. You could buy an expensive Lego construction project... OR you could use old Amazon boxes as extra large building blocks and create a city in your living room. You could collect a whole bunch of ideas and try to organize them and plan ahead... OR you could ....

Since all kids are distance learning at the moment, I thought I would create a resource for my loyal supporters like you! And I am super excited about what I put together. There are 4 full weeks of simple low-budget (mostly FREE!) activities, using things lying around your house. Each day offers one gross motor, one fine motor, and one visual motor play idea (with brief instructions). Some examples of what you will see are:

GROSS MOTOR
-Rolling pin bowling
-Outdoor sponge toss
-Pom pom drop

FINE MOTOR
-Puzzle unwrap
-Bug rescue
-Spaghetti cut

VISUAL MOTOR
-Shadow trace
-Sticker line up
-Lego push

I planned activities that are engaging, multi-sensory, and promote exploration and creativity. They are designed to help maintain and develop motor skills, provide multi-sensory experiences, create positive play memories during this interesting time in our lives, and battle boredom. The calendar activities are mostly targeted to 3-5 year olds, but you can easily modify them to meet your child's abilities if younger or older.

BONUS. Each activity has a star for your child to color when the activity is complete, so they can track their progress!

Take some pictures and tag me @mindfulmovementforkids so I can see what you're up to! Happy playing!
